Effective, Cheap Security I’ve had my system for 6 months and just replaced the batteries in the motion detectors. I assume that using better quality batteries than those provided will mean changing them closer to once a year. Not bad at all, given that I don’t have to run any wires to these locations.I opted not to use the window/door sensors, as they look somewhat tacky in my opinion. Instead, I got a couple extra motion detectors to provide complete coverage of my house. The sensors are somewhat adjustable. On the default setting, they do pick up my 4 pound dog.In the past 6 months, I haven’t had any false alarms where I couldn’t determine the cause. There have been several days where I forgot to disengage the system and walked right through the motion detection field. Very Pleased I purchased this system because there has been a prowler in our neighborhood and I discovered footprints around a few of my windows. I am only using the motion sensor and have purchased several additional motion sensors. All of the sensors are mounted outside and pointed along the walls of the house with particular focus on window areas. The control panel has lights for four zones. In my case I plan on using one zone to identify each side of the house. Multiple sensors (up to six) can be associated with each zone. So far I have the front and back covered.SETUP:Setting up the system is fairly easy.1. Put batteries in the control panel (to keep the system alive for short periods of time during power failures), hang it on the wall (with tape or screws that are provided) and attach and plug in the AC adaptor.2. For the motion sensor, remove the back cover, install the battery and link it to the base station. The linking is the most…
