Forget Lojack! GPS is the way to go! It either works or it doesnt, and this little gadget does exactly what I was looking for. The sim feature is excellent. Buy a $10 prepaid card from Tmobile. SMS messages are cheap so the card is excellent for this application. The prepaid minutes do expire after 90 days so you will need to buy a new prepaid card every 3 months. This GPS is well worth it as you do not have to pay a monthly fee to use the service. I’ve done stereo installs before so the installation of this was pretty easy and straight forward. The hardest part is actually removing parts of the dash and such so that you can hide the device easy and route all wiring professionally. I wired the relay to my ignition circuit. So if the relay is ativated the car cannot be started at all. The system will also only ativate the relay if the vehicle is moving less than about 10mph. These are not limited to vehicles. I successfully installed one on my utility trailer as well. I sleep much better at night now because I know if my…

Tested before installation in my car I put a T-Mobile pre paid SIM and powered up without even connecting to a 12v source. The Red LED started blinking and after about 3 min it started alternating between green and red (not sure what this means). I sent the SMS text message: begin123456. It sent back: begin ok!.I changed the password and setup the admin phone number via SMS. I called it and it responded with lat and long numbers. I opened it in chrome and it was accurate. The device started sending me a Power alarm! message, with location. The internal battery must of had low charge.I’m going to see if I can tap off the trunk light in my Honda–I hope its the right voltage. So far I like the unit.Update 11/18/13I went to O’Reilly and picked up an “add a line” fuse instead of trying to figure out how to get power from the trunk. I have not installed it in my Honda, but I’ve added a lighter adapter from Radio Shack. Its plugged into my old Chevy Truck (cig lighter…

Some clear advice This thing seems to work great. I bought it for a family member who has a Traumatic Brain Injury and has episodes similar to Alzheimer’s occasionally. I haven’t had the unfortunate opportunity to test it in that situation yet, but I have done “driveway tests”.I had mine professionally installed. $100 at a local stereo shop. I probably overpaid, but I wanted to make sure it was done right. The SIM card: I had issues with T-Mobile. The first person registered my SIM as a phone, the second insisted it needed to be registered as a computer device, then the third yet changed it back to phone. They kept asking the make and model of the device, and I had to keep telling them it didn’t matter. My advice here is to never mention that it’s not going in a phone. It just blows their mind otherwise. All you need is talk and text. after all of that, make sure you wait at least two hours, otherwise you’ll get a message blocked error, and it’ll take T-Mobile an hour to…
