In fact, this is an actual surveillance camera that has been modified into a “dummy” or fake security camera. This unit does contain a flashing light. The camera features authentic video cable and a fully adjustable mounting bracket that will let you install the camera quickly and easily using the included stainless steel screws. Dimensions of the camera are 5 one half inches x 3 inches x 2 and one half inches (without rain shield). With the rain shield the dimensions increase to 7 x 3 x 3 inches. The camera requires 2 AA batteries that are not included.

They arrived today and I installed them today. I made one personal enhancement (and the reason I gave 4 stars not 5.) The cameras are missing one “realism” thing and that is a power cord/video cable. At the workbench, I drilled into the plastic just under the battery door (simple.) I then added a section of coax cable (cable tv cable.) On the inside of the camera, I tied this cable into a knot so it could not come out and then left about 1.5 foot tail. Once installed, I worked the cable tail into the soffit of my house. This gives the correct impression that the cable runs into my attic and off to a power source/recorder.I too plan to not use the blinking red light. What I read seems to point out that only fakes use the red light.I bought the white camera because I thought it would blend well with my white house (which it does.) In retrospect, I should have bought the black. Since you are buying these as a “visual deterrent” the easier…
